Cellular sharing
An on-phone proxy opens internet connections instead of ordinary hotspot forwarding. Mac discovers your USB-connected iPhone; Windows and routers can use a manual proxy setup.
Connect your iPhone to your computer over USB and use its cellular connection through CellGlide. The phone app opens the connections instead of ordinary hotspot forwarding. Check speed and usage on your phone as you go.
Whether traffic counts toward a hotspot allowance depends on your carrier’s classification and plan. Check your actual bill.
The iPhone app also tracks usage and helps you check the connection.

See live upload and download speeds and a chart. Explore traffic by session, day or month, with protocol categories such as HTTPS and QUIC.
Use Cloudflare, Google or a custom encrypted DNS endpoint. Turn off CellGlide DNS whenever you prefer system resolution.
Test cellular internet, DNS and the local proxy. View exit IP information and measure cellular speed with Cloudflare.
Install CellGlide on both your iPhone and Mac.
Connect iPhone and Mac over USB. Unlock the phone and trust the computer.
Open CellGlide on iPhone and start sharing. Foreground mode requires the app to stay on screen.
Open the Mac client, authorize its background service and enable TUN to route computer traffic through the phone.
CellGlide passes requests to the iPhone app, which opens connections over cellular rather than using ordinary Personal Hotspot forwarding. This describes how sharing works, but does not guarantee that your carrier counts it as phone data instead of hotspot data. Your plan and actual bill determine accounting.
Start sharing on iPhone, then enable TUN on the Mac or configure a proxy on another device. A cable alone does not route your traffic.
Foreground mode needs CellGlide to stay on screen. The current developer-installed build offers optional VPN background sharing. Enable it manually and use a client that supports USB port forwarding.
The statistics cover traffic forwarded by CellGlide, not all iPhone cellular usage. Direct speed tests and some diagnostics are outside proxy statistics. Your carrier’s actual records determine billing.
Download the Mac client here for Apple silicon and macOS 13 or later. The iPhone app still requires developer installation and is not available on the App Store yet.
The guide covers phone settings, the Mac client and proxy setup on other devices.
